Habitat: This goose has adapted to the Hawaiian life. Not only do they webbed feet to help the nene swim and stand in water, but it helps them walk on lava flow terrain. The nene can be found on Maui mainly by Haleakala. Color Pattern: Nenes has a very goose look to them with it's long neck and bulky body. It's face is black with a yellow tint in their cheeks. Both female and male look very similar. Calls: The calls of this goose sounds just like it's relative the Canadian goose. Some mistake the nenes calls for a cow with it's "moo" calls. Food: The nenes diet is mainly vegetarian. Nene likes food from grasses such as seeds, herbs, leaves, flowers, and fruits. The nene also eats bugs that appear in the grasses too.
