Habitat: The Maui Parrotbill lives in the eastern Maui rain forests. The Parrotbill also is commonly found in the Waikamoi watershed. The Parrotbill also lives in high elevation areas.
Color Pattern: The Maui Parrotbill is a leafy green color and has slight yellow coloring in it's throat and belly, and it's back has a olive color to it. The bird also has a little yellow strip above both eyes, which kind of resemble eyebrows. The bird also has a beak that is hooked. This is how it got the name "Parrotbill".
Calls: The parrotbill has a few different types of calls; one is a distinctive chirp sound. Another call is a high pitch "kee-wit" sound. The third most common sound heard from the Parrotbill is "tchew" call. This call closely resembles a sneeze sound but more high pitch.
Food: The Parrotbill has a diet which consists of many fruits and bugs found in trees. The Maui Parrotbill uses his beak to open harder fruits. It uses it to break branches to pry bugs out from the hard bark. Without the beak of a Parrotbill, it would have to to eat different types of food that don't involve it's parrot shaped beak.
